Politics, Activism, Culture and Fun in Brisbane, Australia.
How will we take over the world and run it ourselves
instead of having to work for the bosses who own everything?
One thing's for sure - we'll need exciting, powerful,
curious and free people on our side, not the boring pseudo-left

Brisbane Murri (Aboriginal) Activism - Public Meeting and Rally - Mulrunji was killed by a policeman - what is to be done?

Murri community activists are calling a meeting at 12 noon this Friday, October 6th, at the Jagara Community Hall, Musgrave Park, Cordelia St, South Brisbane, say both the Socialist Alliance Brisbane blog and Bush Telegraph. Four days later, on Tuesday Ocober 10th, there will be a rally at the Parliament of Queensland. The time of this rally has not yet been decided.

The meeting will discuss the demands of the Murri community, now that a coroner's inquest has said that Aboriginal man Mulrunji was killed by Queensland Police Senior Sergeant Chris Hurley at Palm Island police station, North Queensland, two years ago. Please bring a plate of food with you, to share at the meeting. You can call Sam Watson on 0401 227 443 (+61401227443) to find out more about the meeting.

WARNING - I have NOT been to this venue yet and this might not be the correct building. I think the building opposite the end Glenelg St, just inside the park, is the Jagera Community Hall - it's the first place I would check, and so should you.

If this is wrong, try the larger building about 50 metres away along Cordelia St, walking down to the bottom of the map.
