Let's Take Over to Hibernate from Brisbane activism till end of August

There will be no new articles on let's Take Over until Sunday September 3rd, 2006.

As you can see from my comments here on the Problogger site, I jumped into this blog too quickly, and have to back myself up properly if I am going to turn out a feature article a week.

The calendar will keep rolling along, and so will the list of my comments on other blogs, which is also in the sidebar to your left, below the map showing where visitors are from.

In this 8-week break, I will:

1) Write articles about:

The pseudo left - what it is, and why we need to know who they are. Will also contain a brief critique of Green ideas.

Israeli peace activist Efrat Wolfson's visit to Brisbane in November 2005, and how I got $ 6000 (Australian) of free publicity for it.

The pseudo-Left's response to the Cronulla riots last year, contrasting an article I wrote about a rally at the time with an article by an organiser of that rally.

A very long, detailed and thoughtful article in the Koori Mail fram early June, about Aboriginal traditional law.

An exhibition of activism in Brisbane being held at the Museum of Brisbane.

2) Get lots more events for the Brisbane activist calendar. I'll also be pointing out which events are run by the pseudo-left, and making it not just rallies and meetings. Will especially look for events NOT in the inner city.

3) Buy a new keyboard (most bloggers find that two working [shift] and [control] buttons are pretty important...I also want one with a trackball near the spacebar).

4) Buy a digital camera - long slabs of words on the blog are a real turn off.

I'll be spending a lot of time at Last Superpower as well - if you like my ideas, you should look around there for original, revolutionary (literally) thinking on lots of political issues.

And since it's the 4th of July here in Australia already - the 230th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, I'd like to remind you of these lines, written by hypocritical male slaveowners, that inspired the world (including their own slaves) to believe that it is the job of people to work things out for themselves, instead of relying on priests or kings:

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
