Mulrunji: Community meeting re police march, Jagera Arts Hall, Musgrave Park, South Brisbane - Tuesday February 6th, 1.00-2.30 pm. Bring a plate.

Sam Watson discusses arrangements with police - Invasion Day Rally and March, Parliament House, George St, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 070126-1

Last Friday, the Qld Attorney General, Mr Shine, announced that S/Sgt Chris Hurley will be charged with manslaughter over the death of Mulrunji in a police cell on Palm Island in 2004.

The police reaction has been very angry. Huge meetings have been held on the Gold Coast, in Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns and Toowoomba, and the Queensland Police Union is planning a march on Parliament, although this story from 20 minutes ago in the Courier-Mail says the march will not be in the next week or so, which appears to have been the original plan.

There will be a community meeting at Jagera Arts Hall, Musgrave Park, South Brisbane on Tuesday February 6th at 1.00 pm to discuss what to do about the police march.

All are welcome (except police spies, I guess, but what can you do?), and please bring a plate of food to share.

If you have any questions, you can call Sam Watson on 0401 227 443. (+61 401 227 443)

There's some audio on this event at
Radio for All and its from 4zzz but its terrible audio! unfortunately.

I have heaps of the stuff from LeftCast recordings and we're looking at creating a PP or slideshow with it for Perth next week.

But I like what you did for the November rally -- bi-media! \

Want to link up in some of the media enterprises on the go?

Dave, sorry it took me so long to reply.

Glad you liked the November article. It's getting easier and easier to do interesting things with media on the net.

Definitely think we should link up...The rally and events planned for the May 27 anniversary of the 1967 Aboriginal rights referendum would be a good thing to focus on.
